Located in Trentino, the Paneveggio Natural Park is a must for those who love nature, woods, trails, and fresh mountain views. Those who want to be in direct contact with animals cannot help but be enchanted by the sight of almost 200 square kilometers of forests, crowned by imposing mountains, lakes, valleys, and inlets, a rich green ecosystem that turns red in the fall.
The experience of traveling through history and forests, of discovering high mountain lakes such as Colbricon, Calaita, and Forte Buso is priceless. The Paneveggio Natural Park is waiting to be discovered and explored, it is possible to participate in workshops on the knowledge of the ecosystem, excursions, and guided tours.
This natural park is particularly suitable for families who want to camp or walk in the surroundings. This green masterpiece in the Dolomites is a truly evocative mountain setting, ideal for getting away from the city's summer heat and finding some fresh air, but also for seeing deer in full swing.
There is no shortage of imposing rock faces, lively streams, and alpine pastures, basically everything you could want from a mountain landscape. The mountain, and in this case the Paneveggio Natural Park, is the ideal place to refresh the spirit and admire nature at 360°, letting yourself be overwhelmed by emotions.
Let's see together some of the most interesting places that mountain, hiking, and trekking enthusiasts have the opportunity to meet in this perfect place:
The best time to visit the park is the beginning of autumn, between the end of September and the first days of October; in this particular period of the year the symbolic animal of the park, the deer, begins to wake up, roar and defend its herd and territory. Having the opportunity to see the deer in action is a unique sight, a privilege for both adults and children, the population of over 2000 deer makes sighting and observation very easy.
Paneveggio also tells the story of the great spruce forest, known as the Forest of the Violins for the quality of these fir trees used by violin makers in the past.
The forest animals are the deer and the grouse, which can be observed thanks to the special observation points along the Marcio path.
