It is not every day that you can see such a show. The village of Barcis, with its splendid blue lake, is not very well known and is not a tourist destination, it is in fact a rare and almost unknown pearl, dedicated to true enthusiasts, to those who want to explore, discover and admire a panorama unique in the world.
For this reason, if you are in the province of Pordenone, you cannot miss this beautiful blue lake. Moreover, Barcis Lake can be visited in summer and spring, when there are many activities to do, such as exciting excursions; while in autumn you can admire the many colors that paint this enchanting landscape. So let's see what to do at Lake Barcis, an adventure outside the box.
It is called Sentiero del Dint and it is one of the excursions that allows you to see the whole lake from wonderful perspectives and enter its forest. The path is about 4 kilometers long and can be covered in about two hours of walking. It is an undemanding path suitable for everyone, even for families, even if the difference in altitude is equivalent to 130 meters. This is the most scenic path, allowing you to go up and admire the intense colors of the lake from above. Along the path, there are also glass walkways that allow you to see the panorama even better.
The path around the lake is called Sentiero degli Alpini and it is a flatter path, but 7 kilometers long because it goes around the whole lake, where it is possible to find benches and perfect places to have a picnic immersed in nature.
From the lake of Barcis, it is possible to see the Vecchia Strada della Valcellina: this road allows you to enter the gorge of the stream, and even if you need to pay for it, it is really worth entering this natural spectacle. The payment is a contribution from the visitors to the safety of the lake and to the construction works that prevent the rocks from falling. The most suggestive part of this old road is certainly the Tibetan bridge over the gorge, which is 55 meters long.
