A pre-Alpine mountain village at the foot of the Small Dolomites, Valli del Pasubio is located northwest of the province of Vicenza and enclosed by the mountain group of Sengio Alto and Monte Pasubio, a mountain sacred to Italy.
Valli del Pasubio is a border town because it is close to the autonomous province of Trento. Its identity has been shaped over the centuries by numerous cultural exchanges and historical events that can still be read in the walls of the houses. The traditions kept alive by the people of the town are a reminder of a multicultural past that still lives on in the border area.
Before 1900 the village was called Valli dei Signori, but it became Valli del Pasubio, strengthening the link with the First World War, which was fought on Mount Pasubio and kept these valleys in suspense for 52 days.
Today it is a charming village with a history to tell and landscapes to discover, where you can find the peace and tranquility that the mountains deserve.
It is a suggestive place from which to admire a beautiful view over the valley. When the first snow falls and everything around is colored white and the place becomes still, calm, and silent, it is like finding yourself in a dream.
Here, from Valli del Pasubio, it is possible to leave for various excursions on the Little Dolomites.
Not to be missed in Valli di Pasubio is the Avis Bridge, a steel rope bridge suspended at a height of 35 meters and located along the Strada del Re, in the context of the Campogrosso Ring. An extremely suggestive walkway that blends perfectly with the surrounding nature.
Valli del Pasubio is a place where the memory of the war is carved in the name, in the stone, and in the streets of the village. Here, in fact, it is possible to visit the Sacello Ossario, a military shrine built to honor the fallen in the Great War which houses the bodies of 5,000 soldiers, in particular the fallen of Caporetto.
Not far away you can visit the Museum of the 1st Army, characterized by an articulated path that relives the main events, people, and equipment of the First World War.
